Fam - there is nothing I love more than a good list. I love making lists, I LOVE checking things off to-do lists, and I love reading “10 Best” or “Top Things” lists. It’s the Type A, organizational monster in me that finds information contained in a well-organized and thoughtful package is the best kind.

And so as I was thinking of the best way to share SO many awesome resources with you, a list seemed like the only (and best) way.

As you are face deep in navigating the great pivot, what’s next, and how you’re going to get there, I want to offer a few of my favorite things that have profoundly helped me grow in business this year, and resources that I regularly share with my coaching clients to help them too.

You’re going to want to bookmark this list because I promise you’ll be referring back to it about a thousand times throughout the rest of the year.

 1- If you’ve been down every Google hole possible and STILL cannot figure out how to create a landing page, automate your website, create sales funnels, integrate a payment process….the list is endless - I encourage you to check out Skillshare. In fact, enjoy 2 free months, on me (literally zero catch, zero credit cards required).

I have learned more on the courses on the Skillshare platform than I maybe should be sharing, but I’m not too proud to say that there’s a TON I didn’t know, that I do now.

You can learn literally anything from baking the perfect sourdough, knitting an Insta-worthy sweater or how to create your own GIF. So what are you waiting for?!

2 - If you aren’t using Canva and Creative Market for your marketing purposes, you’re either missing out, or paying someone way too much. My Canva Prob subscription allows me to make custom graphics (and pretty IG stories), as well as large presentations (think - webinar decks) in the most user friendly way. Add in Creative Market templates (pre-made, gorgeously on-brand social media, email and webinar templates) and you are set.

With both of these platforms combined, I have total control over branded content and no longer have to rely on a graphic designer to get things back to me, nor am I paying graphic designer rates. If you’re the type of person who is constantly putting out content, these will save you huge on time and money!

Pro Tip - if you’re yet to create freebie/lead magnet, Canva will be your saving grace for creating beautiful and custom PDFs quickly. Don’t overthink the freebie! Make it short and sweet, and don’t be afraid to create numerous ones on different topics! You never know what your audience will respond to best.

3 - We can't talk about growing and expanding your business without talking about your finances. I know money is a stressful topic this year; you’re talking to the gal who bought a new house in the pandemic and is face-deep renovating it - yikes, what a financial decision. But the way that Pat and I keep our stress in check is to have a serious grasp of our finances, where we are, what’s going where, and how we’re going to make it all work.

Number one tip to grow your bank account is to KNOW what's IN your bank account to start with. Sounds pretty simple, right? You’d be surprised….

Number two tip? Make sure you have the best financial practices and are taking advantage of common business tax deductions and write offs. Between these two, you’ll be able to organize and manage your business finances so that you’re taking home more, paying less in taxes, and ultimately seeing the business grow.

And speaking of taxes, make sure you’re either using a payroll processor like Gusto to ensure that your income is being properly taxed, OR make sure you’re saving at least 25% of every paycheck. Yes, 25%.

4 - The secret to your success lies in your daily routine. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it a million more times. The way to find time to ‘do it all’ is to get ahead of your schedule and manage your time; don’t let it manage you.

I wrote these Managing Your Time: Part 1 and Part 2 blogs earlier this year, and they are by far two of the most popular blogs I have on the page.

If you’re feeling really stuck, sit down and do the ‘Rocks, Pebbles, Sand’ exercise.

5  - While I firmly believe that traditional in-person training can and will continue to exist and thrive, it’s no secret that online training is everything and everywhere these days, and it’s not going away anytime soon.

If you’re looking for resources on setting up your online business properly, efficiently, and affordably, I have two great blogs on the very topic: Setting Up Your Online Business: Pt 1 and Pt 2

And it’s no secret that Growing Your Email List is one of my favorite topics, so I can’t resist sharing it.

You can also download my FREE PDF - Taking Your Training Online here.

6 - If you’re looking for MORE; if you want a comprehensive, tried and true roadmap to finally setting up your online business the correct, legal and automated way; if you want hands-on support and a sense of community; if you want to learn how to sell with selling, attract new clients and expand your reach, then you’re in luck.

My 4-week collaborative learning experience, Online Business Bootcamp is launching August 24, and registration goes live this Friday, August 14th.

This course is for you if you:

  • Are a fitness professional ready to take the next steps in your business, but maybe aren’t 100% sure what that looks like;

  • Are a fitness professional professional who has been trading time for money, training client after client, and you’re ready for more;

  • Understand that the fitness and wellness industries are changing, and you want to stay up-to-date on trends, and get ahead of the game;

  • Are ready to work less, create more, make more money, have more meaningful connections with your clients, and finally stop trading your time for $$ on someone else’s terms.

For the price of a few training sessions, you can finally take control of your career, your business, and your future.

Spots are already filling up before registration has opened (OMG), so hit me with any questions or concerns you have, and let me know if I should save a spot for YOU and those big dreams of yours too.

X, D
