WIFA Postponing All IHRSA 2020 Events

To our stakeholders (Sponsors, Partners, Speakers, Members, Attendees),

After much consideration we have decided to withdraw our participation during IHRSA 2020 and by doing so will also postpone Accelerate – Amplify Your Career and the WIFA Annual Reception.

Like many of you, we have been closely monitoring the global spread of Coronavirus as your health and safety are of utmost importance to us. Our decision to postpone also honors the decision of our event host, the American Council on Exercise’s (ACE), to withdraw from the IHRSA Convention this year. ACE announced that decision this morning, a decision made so to minimize risk of contributing to the inadvertent spread of COVID-19, however remote. I have been in conversation with ACE leadership – they are as enthusiastic as ever in their support of WIFA and are eager to host us in the future.

Other factors that have influenced our decision are the majority of prominent equipment and training brands have now withdrawn from IHRSA, as well. Due to many companies restricting employee travel, the impact on our attendance of delegates has been significant.

Having spoken to a number of you, and taking a balanced view of all the variables, we have made the tough decision to postpone both events with details to be confirmed once we have better optics on the future. Your ticket/s remain/s valid at the later date or you can get a refund by reaching out to [email protected]. Also, we will be contacting our partners to determine next steps.
